Books are a great way to teach our little ones so much about life lessons in a lighthearted and humourous way. Our Scholastic Canada sponsored literacy programs in March will be teaching our preschoolers, the importance of sharing.
Tales for Tots and French Tales for Tots
Meet the greediest pug in the world. Pif is ill-tempered, rude, and unreasonable. He lives with Trevor the sausage dog, who would like nothing better than to play with Pig’s toys.
When Trevor asks Pig to share, Pig replies, “They’re mine. GO AWAY!” and gathers all his toys into one great big pile. Pig climbs on top of his stash to taunt Trevor, but the pile gives way and he goes tumbling down . . . ending up in a full-body cast!
Will Pig the Pug learn his lesson at last?
Books for Babes
This board book not only features different trucks making deliveries to different places, it's also chock-full of flaps! Toddlers and preschoolers love playing with cars and trucks, but now they can actually peek inside these fun trucks and see what's inside, from food and livestock to where the driver sleeps on overnight drives!
We invite you to join us at our momstown Milton Literacy focused programs held each month. Along with reading the book, children enjoy a craft, songs and an activity that corresponds with the featured book. At the end of the program one lucky participant gets to take the book home with them thanks to Scholastic Canada!
