We had a blast at our momstown Milton Community Celebration hosted by the The Dance Class this past week. Families came out to celebrate our new website launch and learn more about our educational program pillars. The event was jam packed with crafts, sensory bins, discovery tables, treats and prize give aways. Thank you to everyone that came out to party with us!
Not sure what our pillar programs are?
Here is a listing of the types of programs you can expect to find when you become a momstown Milton member.
Science and Discovery
This program has a wide range of activities from learning about our 5 senses to offering our preschoolers the chance to hypothesis and experiment. Our guests got to enjoy this program pillar with our sponsors Lisa Roach from Century 21 who brought along colorful rainbow spaghetti to play with, Safari Science and their exotic friends, making their own natural body scrub with Dr. Erica from Whole Life Health Services and discovering lego robotics with Bricks 4 Kidz.
Art
We get in touch with our inner Picasso's at our art programs. Finger painting, stickers, beading and colouring offer our little ones the opportunity to use their imaginations to create masterpieces. Thank you to our sponsors who allowed our little artists to bring home some fun creations. Art Camp turned our tots into Royals, Michelle Hawco from Remax helped bring Spring to our event with some adorable butterflies, Christa Kitagawa from Suetables accessorized our friends and Milton Optometry kept an "eye" on them with their fun crafts.
Fitness and Adventure
Staying active is very important part of our momstown curriculum. Having partnerships with fitness oriented businesses is a great way to meet our goals. Thanx to our sponsors Little Kickers, Monkeynastix and Trainers on Site who keep both our kids and parents moving towards a healthier lifestyle with fitness and sports.
Prenatal/Postnatal
Becoming a mom for the first time can bring about many questions. Our Belly Basics and Baby Basics Programs help to provide much needed support. We appreciate companies like Bullseye Child Safety and Sonya Levear from Usana who try to help answer some of those questions.
Music
Who doesn't love music? Our music and movement programs keep our little ones singing, dancing and having fun. Change It Up 360 had our guests moving and grooving!
Literacy
Reading to our kids is important no matter what age they are.We have several programs – Tales for Tots, Alphabet Play, Contes pour le bouts d'choux that encourge early literacy. Today we made reading fun with a scavenger hunt. Thanks to Mark Ritcey from Freedom 55 for sponsoring the activity.
Nutrition
Our Junior Chef and Baking Buddies programs teach our picky little eaters to explore new foods! Smoothies sponsored by Dr. Rishma Walji was a great way to teach parents how to add a .variety of healthy fruits and veggies to the mix.
Play & Social
Our last pillar is learning through play. Play encourages social interaction giving our tots the necessary communication skills they will need in all future interactions. Thank you to Milton Mompreneurs, Par-T-Perfect and Lil' Beans Pony Pals and Parties for giving our kids the perfect opportunity to make new friends and practice social skills like taking turns and sharing.
Finally, we would like to thank our national sponsors who also helped make our guests happy!
Clifford the Big Red Dog from our friends at Scholastic Canada came to visit us and brought smiles to so many faces!
We had some great prizes to give away thanks to our sponsors!
A huge hit were the Little People Discovery toys from Fisher Price and the camping sets from Walmart Canada!
Special thank you to Coffee Craze, Hillary's Cupcakes and Joy of Cakes for our delicious treats.
