Name: Josephine Sram
Age: 35
Born In: Toronto,ON
Children’s name and age: Nathan 2 years, Elliott 15 months
Childhood Ambition: I really wanted to become a veterinarian until I realized that the job would likely be too tough for me to see sick and injured animals on a daily basis. I didn’t want to be sad all the time and I still have a really soft spot for animals.
Fondest Memory: One of my fondest memories is of the sleepovers my sister and I used to have when we were young girls up until our teenage years. Sometimes we would sleep in the same twin bed and other times we’d push a mattress down the hallway to the other one’s room and camp out on the floor. We’d stay up and chat about everything and anything until the wee hours. We’re older now and my sister is still my best friend.
Wildest Dream: What’s wild is that I rarely dream! When I do dream, I don’t remember them the next day.
Proudest Moment: This might be corny but everyday I feel proud. It’s the simple things like being able to put a roof over my family’s head, eat delicious meals, and enjoy life that make me proud. With my kids being quite young, I’m also proud watching them grow up and learn new things.
Biggest Challenge: Becoming a mom for the first time was very scary and by far the biggest challenge I’ve faced. I didn’t know if I would be a good mom and felt extremely anxious and nervous. But the moment my oldest son was placed in my arms, I knew that I would do everything in my power to be the best mom I can be. So far the smiles on my kid’s faces are proof that I’ve done well!
Perfect Day: My perfect day is sleeping in while my husband takes care of the kids, have some breakfast with them and then take the kids to the park or farm to play. Sushi for lunch and then relaxing in the backyard while the kids nap – ahhhh…
First Job: I was a babysitter for a little while at first but my first “real” job was at McDonald’s. I learned so much, had lots of fun and also met one of my close friends there – 18 years later and we still talk and see each other all the time.
Indulgence: Dairy Queen. I can’t say no to a hot fudge sundae or mint oreo Blizzard.
Last Big Purchase: A necklace for myself that my boys can tug on and play with and won’t be able to break
Favorite Movie or Favourite Sport? The Devil Wears Prada. There’s something about the predictability of chick flicks that I enjoy.
How long have you been a member of momstown Milton? 6 months
Describe your experience as a momstown member? It’s been really great and I don’t know why I didn’t join sooner! I decided to give momstown Milton a chance by getting a trial membership. I saw how much fun the activities are and that my oldest son really enjoyed them. I love that there are some activities for the moms as well. I’ve been able to reconnect with some moms that I already knew and have also had the pleasure to chat with some moms that I didn’t know. momstown Milton is very welcoming and I’m thrilled to be a member!
