Name: Ioana Mintcheva-Dixon
Born In: Sofia, Bulgaria
Children’s name and age: Delilah, 6 months (and two fur babes, pups- Maxx and Finlee)
Childhood Ambition: I’ve always wanted to be a mom! My fondest memories as a little girl are of playing house, building extravagant Barbie lands and spending hours nurturing my toys with my best friend.
Fondest Memory: This is so cliche but I have two. First the day I married my best friend and second when we welcomed our little girl into the world. She was born at home with the assistance of our midwives and it is by far the happiest and proudest I’ve ever been.
Wildest Dream: Owning enough land where we can grow the majority of the food we consume, having no mortgage and spending my days running a small business with my husband.
Proudest Moment: Going through a natural home birth
Biggest Challenge: Realising that no one knows it all and that there isn’t an easy answer for everything. Parenting is a challenge every day and I have to remember that although every day isn’t good, there is good in every day J
Perfect Day: Spending the entire day with my hubby and little munchkin, doesn’t matter what we do!
First Job: Babysitter (like most pre-teen girls) then a cashier at Shoppers Drug Mart
Indulgence: I LOVE anything sweet. Chocolate, sour jube jubes, cherry blasters and ice cream are just a few of my favourites.
Last Big Purchase: Other then everything to get ready for Delilah’s arrival, my car. It’s sleek, comfortable and perfect for our family.
Favorite Movie or Favourite Sport? I’m a bit of a musical junky, Moulon Rouge and Rent are a couple that top the list. As for sports, I played Field Hockey and Rugby growing up so they’re natural favourites.

Describe your experience as a momstown member? Momstown has been a literal life saver! I’ve always been a busy body so being house bound when Delilah as a newbie was so overwhelming. The lovely people and fun programs have allowed me to make lifelong friends and bounce back into the real world smoothly. We’ve made some adorable keepsakes and learned some great tips and tricks from other moms and professionals in a variety of avenues.
